Muir Wood has three girls’ residential campuses in idyllic Sonoma County, CA. Just 30 miles north of San Francisco, Sonoma County is known for its’ rolling hills, rugged coastline, 50 regional parks, and small-town charm. The three girls’ campuses encompass over ten acres, allowing ample space for individual and group therapy, on-site, accredited schooling, and outdoor spaces. Campus amenities include soccer fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and the Jennifer Golick Family Learning Center used for music therapy, yoga, meditation, and other experiential therapies. Parents and referents often comment on these incredible settings.
A significant amount of thought goes into our campus settings. For many of our clients, this may be their first exposure to treatment. For some, their first time away from home. When these boys and girls come to Muir Wood and walk through the doors of our beautiful, homelike campuses, these settings help them to initially engage in treatment and the process of healing.”Scott Sowle, Founder, Muir Wood
Haverfield Lane Campus
Haverfield Lane sits on four securely gated acres. The property also goes by Heron House, so named for the long-legged, freshwater birds occupying the pond in front of the main house. The colonial ranch-style main residence is surrounded by acres of flower gardens, organic farm beds, a separate schoolhouse, and a renovated barn used for yoga, reiki, and meditation.
Rebecca House Campus
Rebecca House is a large, beautiful home on two acres, close to Muir Wood’s other girls’ campuses. The house contains a home theatre, a large outdoor area, and ample room for girls to feel safe and secure while enjoying striking views of downtown Petaluma and the Sonoma countryside.
Lohrman Lane Campus
Lohrman Lane is a private, modern ranch house set on four acres. The property’s small pond is home to ducks and turtles, and its large schoolhouse offers wraparound decks where girls can study in privacy while overlooking the Sonoma countryside. Lohrman’s large recreation room is used for music therapy, yoga, reiki, and meditation, and its ample spaces foster privacy and safety that are conducive to healing.
