Girls Mental Health Treatment in Riverside, CA

At Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services, we offer girls mental health treatment in Riverside, CA. Each of our two Riverside campuses is designed to accommodate six girls aged 12 to 17.

The program mirrors the dual-diagnosis program first established in Sonoma County, California, which has proven to be successful for more than a decade. Dual-diagnosis is the co-occurrence of mental health and substance use issues with both treated simultaneously.

We chose to expand our program to Riverside because of its shortage of high-quality residential treatment programs for teens. By filling that gap, we seek to provide hope and healing for more families.

As we treat girls, we focus on the whole self. We’re not just a drug rehab for girls in Riverside. Our dual-diagnosis approach treats the underlying mental health issues behind substance abuse.

Girls attend therapy and meet with a psychiatrist to create a treatment plan to meet their individual needs. We also offer holistic and adventure therapies such as yoga, music classes, and physical recreation.

During their stay, girls are supported by a network of highly skilled staff and participate in a range of therapeutic activities. Working on-site, we have full-time:

  • Therapists
  • Nurses
  • Teachers
  • Chefs

Our team provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment for teen girls in Riverside. The therapy team guides the girls through both individual and group therapy to treat substance issues and their mental health-based causes. Meanwhile, the additional support staff attends to overall well-being with nutritious meals, recreation, and academic learning.

Edgewild Campus is one of our two girls treatment facilities in Southern California. Located just an hour from Newport Beach, this property is home to several of the citrus trees the area is known for. Girls can see these trees and other stunning natural views from the wraparound porch or patio space. The property also has a pool and grassy outdoor areas for physical recreation.

Our Da Vinci campus in Riverside is home to the program’s learning center, where girls from both the Edgewild Campus and Da Vinci Campus participate in academic activities each weekday morning.

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, this campus offers a tranquil place for rest and healing. Girls have access to an outdoor tennis court and swimming pool as part of their physical wellness. They’ll also experience supervised adventures on the nearby hiking trails.
The beautiful Riverside mountains can also be a welcome respite for families when visiting their teens in treatment or participating in family therapy.
