The Muir Wood Girls residential treatment program provides specialized care for girls 12-17 struggling with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, personality and mood disorders, attachment-based issues, self-harm, anger management, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), suicidality, and dual-diagnosis conditions (a substance use disorder coupled with an underlying mental health diagnosis).
While Muir Wood is the first treatment experience for many girls, others may have been previously enrolled in outpatient, residential, or wilderness programs, or received individual therapy or psychiatry elsewhere. Whether these clients are new to mental healthcare or are experienced with it, our goal is to provide individualized and impactful treatment in settings that are safe, nurturing, and effective.
Many parents consider finding the right treatment program to be one of their most important and overwhelming decisions. While every teen’s and every family’s needs differ, it is generally advisable for parents to choose a program that employs highly credentialed professionals who tailor individualized programming to the needs of clients and families.
