Girls walk between buildings through fresh air, spend time outdoors as part of their daily schedule, and wind down each evening in comfortable, home-style residences. Treatment is trauma-informed, clinically rigorous, and focused on helping each teen build the internal resources she needs to sustain progress after discharge.
The typical length of stay at Muir Wood ranges from 45 to 60 days, though some teens benefit from extended treatment of up to 90 days. A multidisciplinary team of licensed clinicians guides each girl’s care. Housing and programming are gender-separate, creating an environment where girls can focus without distraction—while treatment itself remains personalized, inclusive, and affirming of every teen’s identity.
Family connection is woven throughout the treatment experience. Parents participate in structured family therapy, receive regular updates and coaching from clinical staff, and collaborate directly with the care team on transition planning—so the work that begins at Lohrman continues meaningfully at home.
