In addition to the evidence-based approaches utilized in our individual, group and family therapy sessions, we offer a broad array of holistic and experiential therapy opportunities for the teens at Muir Wood. With years of experience treating adolescent boys, we have developed a schedule of therapeutic experiences that greatly enhance our residents’ recovery work.
Types of Therapy at Muir Wood
- Adventure Therapy: In our weekly Adventure Therapy program, boys are guided through incredible outdoor adventures by a Master’s level Eco-Therapist. Boys build confidence, develop new skills and interests, and learn to take on challenging circumstances within a safe therapeutic environment.
- Guided Meditation & Yoga: Both yoga and guided meditation are taught weekly to help boys learn healthy stress management skills, calm their nervous system, and develop mindfulness. Boys work with a Certified Yoga Therapistand a mediation instructor with more than 30 years of experience.
