Getting to Muir Wood From Sacramento

Muir Wood's residential campuses are in Petaluma and Penngrove, in southern Sonoma County. From Sacramento the drive is about an hour and a half, most directly on I-80 west to CA-37 and then US-101. It is a day trip, not a journey, which is what makes in-person family therapy and campus visits realistic for Sacramento families.

Sacramento and West Sacramento

Take I-80 west through Vacaville and Fairfield, then CA-37 west toward Novato and US-101 north. Plan on about an hour and a half to Petaluma, with Penngrove a few minutes further north. Traffic through the Fairfield and Vallejo stretch is the main variable, so mid-morning and early-afternoon departures tend to run closest to the estimate.
Davis, Woodland, and Yolo County

Davis and Woodland sit west of the city, so the drive is slightly shorter: about an hour and fifteen to an hour and a half on I-80 west and CA-37. Families north of Woodland often prefer CA-113 down to I-80 rather than routing back through Sacramento.
Roseville, Folsom, and Elk Grove
