With more than 20 years working as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Maxwell brings a wealth of knowledge and a broad range of experiences to Muir Wood Teen and Family Services. His career began in Nashville, Tennessee as a community-based Family Therapist at the Oasis Center for Teens, and then onto Cumberland Heights where he served as the Family Therapist in their adolescent program. During his tenure at Cumberland Heights, Maxwell focused on his long-standing interest of working with young people who struggle from the effects of addiction and their families. In 2009, Maxwell moved to the Bay Area to work with families in his role as the Director of Family Services for the Mayflower Center, and later as the Clinical Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program at Bayside Marin.
Maxwell’s extensive experience has taught him the importance of exceptional, ethical, and collaborative clinical care; staff and therapist development; community outreach; and open, transparent communications.
