Kate is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Clinical Supervisor for the Boys’ Program at Muir Wood. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, and her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. She has provided mental health and substance abuse treatment in a variety of settings for the past 17 years with a primary focus on adolescents and their families. She operates from a non-judgmental stance and seeks to aid adolescents and their families in their efforts to repair and improve their relationships in the context of developmental, psychiatric, and interpersonal challenges. She believes in the dialectical concept of phenomenological empathy, maintaining that each of us is doing the best we can and that we have the capacity to improve.
