Alex is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker having earned his Masters in Social Work with an emphasis in mental health from the University of Utah. He has worked in residential treatment settings for the past 7 years helping individuals, couples, and families heal from the effects of substance use and mental illness. Alex takes a humanistic and existential approach to therapy, maintaining the worth and dignity of each client/family while removing obstacles to their well-being. He has also spent the past 2 years practicing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which aims to teach clients to behave in accordance with their values even in the presence of difficult emotions and experiences. Alex is from Oakland, California, and loves photography, hiking, and spending time with his family.
