Our on-campus Learning Centers provide supplemental and tutorial instruction for students in grades 7 through 12, helping teens stay academically engaged while they focus on what matters most—their healing and growth.
Teens attend class every weekday for up to three hours, with supervised access to Chrome-based computers during that time. Our teachers have a variety of backgrounds, including expertise in English, social science, business, math, and science.
Muir Wood Learning Centers are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as a supplementary education program. This accreditation recognizes our commitment to providing quality academic support. However, it is important to understand that we are not a high school—we cannot issue grades, credits, or transcripts.
We provide tutoring, support, and coordination with your teen’s home school to ensure they remain academically productive during their time in treatment.
We work closely with each family to develop an educational plan that fits your teen’s needs. Our first priority is always to maintain continuity with your teen’s school of record.
Our preferred approach is for your teen to continue working with their home school while in treatment. Under both California law (Ed Code) and federal regulations (IDEA), your teen’s school of record can continue to provide educational services.

We understand the importance of a teen’s education during Residential Treatment. Our experienced program provides comprehensive academic support and encouragement, guiding students to successfully continue their educational journey, build on their unique path, and move forward with confidence toward their future goals.
