The Associate Therapist is responsible for providing residential addiction and mental health treatment as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, and will report directly to the Clinical Director as part of the clinical management team. The therapist fulfills direct service, including individual /family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention. Additionally, it directly interfaces with residents and families. Facilitates individual and group therapy; coordinates 12-step programming, management of daily milieu, and providing leadership to support staff. Will hold a caseload minimum of 3 clients, running group therapy sessions, and participating in the weekly treatment team and clinical meetings.

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, and under the supervision of the COO, the Clinical Director will oversee Muir Wood’s clinical programming including (but not limited to) program development, clinical supervision, staff training in best clinical practices, and facilitation of both the weekly staff meeting and treatment team meeting. The Clinical Director provides clinical supervision and program management in areas of administrative oversight, State of CA DSS and DHCS licensing compliance, JCAHO accreditation, and employee appraisal. Additionally, responsible for the overall operation of the facility in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, including guidelines and regulations governing our facility to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe manner.

- Meet with residents/clients individually a minimum of once per week.

- Vacuuming all carpeted areas daily and sweeping all non-carpeted floors daily
- Ensure all resident rooms are cleaned daily per the Operations Manager’s definition.
- Ensure that all cleaning products are locked up when not in use. At no time are any hazardous materials, such as cleaning products, to be left unsupervised at Muir Wood.
- Mopping all floors daily and mopping heads changed daily.
- Store and organize linens and housekeeping supplies.
- Ensures that clean linen will be stored separately from soiled linen.
- Ensures that soiled linen containers will be labeled “soiled linen.”
- Bathrooms cleaned and disinfected daily.
- Dusting will be done at least once per week.
- Empty trash daily.
- Ensure that all offices are cleaned weekly and that all trash in offices is emptied daily
- On occasion may be required to remove/clean waste materials and pests

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, and under the supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer, the Clinical Director will oversee Muir Wood’s clinical programming including (but not limited to) program development, clinical supervision, staff training in best clinical practices, and facilitation of both the weekly staff meeting and treatment team meeting. The Clinical Director provides clinical supervision and program management in areas of administrative oversight, State of CA DSS and DHCS licensing compliance, JCAHO accreditation, and employee appraisal. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing and auditing client records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality in the documentation of treatment and services. This role is essential in maintaining and preserving the clinical integrity of documentation and confidentiality of client information, and ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures of all regulatory bodies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Records Compliance:
- Conduct detailed reviews of client medical records and clinical documentation related to mental health and substance use disorders.
- Examine all documentation (assessments, screenings, treatment plans, progress notes, groups notes, discharge notes, and discharge summaries, etc.) to ensure all required components are present and completed within required timeframes.
- Ensure that client records comply with Community Care Licensing, Department of Health Care Services, The Joint Commission and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
Data Accuracy:
- Verify that all clinical information, including diagnoses, treatment plans, individual sessions, family sessions, group notes and other relevant information, are accurately recorded in the client record.
- Ensure that all entries are signed and that supervisor signature is present as required for non-licensed clinical staff
Medical Records Management:
- Respond to medical records requests from parents and outside entities, and ensure signed ROI is present and uploaded to client record.
- Communicate requests for information with Clinical Directors and treating clinicians to ensure no damage is imparted on the client and/or their families.
- Respond to subpoenas and court orders requesting client information under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Preserve client confidentiality as required by HIPAA, federal/state laws and ethical standards.
- Prepare medical records for delivery when authorized
Auditing and Reporting:
- Prepare audit reports summarizing findings and any areas of concern or improvement needed.
- Forwards these findings weekly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Communicate audit results to relevant staff and management, facilitating corrective actions when necessary.
Training and Education:
- Collaborate with HR Director to ensure staff trainings and competencies in Relias are met within expected timeframe.

Confidentiality:

Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-11pm
- Completes Nursing screening and/or assessment of new clients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
- Links clients with appropriate medical care as necessary and documents all referrals.
- Obtains, stores and monitors medications according to policy and procedure.
- Monitors medication process for individual living in residential facilities including supervision of medication distribution, supervising self-administration process.
- Provides on-going client education (group and individual) regarding medications.
- Performs responsibilities according to clinical and timeliness guidelines, and assimilates and applies performance feedback as directed by management personnel.
- Work with Operations Manager to order required medical equipment
- Cross-trains and supports other divisions (ie care coordinators) as needed or requested by the supervisor.
- Maintains medical records, medical charts, control log, etc
- Self-directed to provide support to colleagues as workflow allows.
- Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

The Associate Therapist is responsible for providing residential addiction and mental health treatment as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, and will report directly to the Clinical Director as part of the clinical management team. The therapist fulfills direct service, including individual /family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention. Additionally, it directly interfaces with residents and families. Facilitates individual and group therapy; coordinates 12-step programming, management of daily milieu, and providing leadership to support staff. Will hold a caseload minimum of 3 clients, running group therapy sessions, and participating in the weekly treatment team and clinical meetings.

The Licensed Psychiatrist provides ongoing psychiatric care to Muir Wood adolescent residents with mental, emotional or substance abuse problems. This role will provide routine and emergency assessments, diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, coordination of care before and during admission and post-discharge. Will provide communication to parents/guardians’, and clients’ education on a weekly basis.

- Conduct twice weekly individual therapy sessions with assigned caseload
- Communicates with third-party insurance provider upon admission (or as necessary)
- Maintains comprehensive clinical documentation that meets or exceeds relevant legal, ethical, and accreditation standards
- Responsible for providing direct therapeutic services in the form of diagnostic assessments and treatment for all clients
- Provide weekly group therapy with residents as needed and directed by Clinical Director
- Facilitate Treatment Planning in the absence of the Clinical Director
- Working knowledge of KIPU electronic health records and CARF charting standards
- Responsible for parent/Referent communication and case management for client caseload (with client’s written consent)
- Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues
- Provide in-service training to staff and trainees on topics as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, etc
Requirements
- Masters-level therapist or equivalent, Licensed Ph.D, PsyD, LMFT, or LPCC preferred.
- Experience working in substance abuse treatment, preferably in a residential setting.
Qualifications:
- Holds a current license registration issued by appropriate state agency.
- A valid CA driver license, a clean driving record and the ability to transport clients in vehicles
- TB required and health screen, along with CPR and first aid

The Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor is responsible for providing counseling and therapeutic clinical services to patients, providing counseling and linkage assistance within a residential environment, including responsibilities maintaining the program milieu. Additionally, responsible for the overall operation of the facility in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, including guidelines and regulations governing our facility to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe manner.
Requirements
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level (CADC) preferred
- Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor (CATC) preferred
- Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work
- Availability to work weekends
- Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with residents/clients individually a minimum of once per week.
- Facilitate group sessions as determined by the Clinical Director.
- Coordinate all aspects of the Counselors role in client programming including the assignment and evaluation of Level Advancement assignments.
- As part of a treatment team, collaborate on approvals of all outings and activities for residential clients.
- Participate in family programming sessions as requested and required by the Program Director.
- Responsible for the timely completion of clinical documentation (progress and group notes).
- Attends weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision if needed, and is instructed by Program Director.
- Develop off campus meeting schedule (if deemed appropriate) for residents to attend AA, Al-Anon, and NA meetings with staff accompaniment.
- Locate and assign alternatives to meetings in the community by accessing other resources such as Smart Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, etc.
- Attends meetings, trainings and conferences representing Muir Wood as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the supervisor.
Position is full time, on site

The Psychiatrist provides ongoing psychiatric care to Muir Wood adolescent residents with mental, emotional or substance abuse problems. This role will provide routine and emergency assessments, diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, coordination of care before and during admission and post-discharge. Will provide communication to parents/guardians’, and clients’ education on a weekly basis.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversees Psychiatric care of residents
- Attends weekly treatment team meetings.
- Serves as liaison with Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, and other treatment team members.
- Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
- Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
- Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care
- Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, therapists, nurses, etc to assess and adjust treatment plans
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Doctorate in Medicine (MD)
- Board Certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry
- Current license in the State of California
- Experience with adolescent psychiatry preferred
Compensation: $270,000k-$330,000k
